IT equipment reuse & refurbishment
Before any material recovery, we systematically assess the second-life potential of every device. It is the most effective environmental action: a reused computer avoids manufacturing a new one and pushes back any recycling step by several years.
The most effective environmental action against material pressure is not recycling — it's extending. Before any disassembly, SFDE evaluates the second-life potential of every incoming device. A professional computer reused for three additional years avoids, on average, the extraction of more than 200 kg of raw materials and 1.2 tons of CO₂ equivalent.
Our testing workshop, run by in-house technicians, combines automated testing with human controls: full diagnostics on a dedicated bench, A/B/C grading, inspection of critical components, firmware updates and a clean OS reinstall. Every machine leaves with a traced serial number, an intervention history and a commercial warranty.
Our activity is aimed exclusively at professionals: associations, local authorities, companies, IT service providers, training operators and nonprofit actors. We build with each one a tailored journey, from collection to recovery, so that every device finds its best second life in compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements.
A measurable, provable, archived promise.
How we operate
Diagnostics & functional testing
Every incoming device eligible for reuse goes through a complete test protocol: hardware, battery, screen, peripherals, performance. The result determines its path — testing, spare parts, or material recovery.
- Automated testing on a dedicated workstation
- A / B / C grading on cosmetic and functional state
- Per-unit inventory with serial number
- Diagnostic report available on request

Guaranteed data erasure
No reused device leaves the site without verified software erasure. Non-erasable media (failed SSDs, encrypted devices) are systematically routed to physical destruction.
- Blancco / Active@ KillDisk software erasure, verified result
- Named erasure attestation per serial number
- 5-year archival for audit
- GDPR and professional confidentiality compliance

Functional testing & restoration
Cleaning, inspection of critical components, firmware updates, system reinstallation: our teams validate the reliability level of every machine to match professional second-life market standards.
- OEM or equivalent spare parts
- Clean system install (Windows, Linux, macOS)
- Final QC on a test bench
- Individual packaging and labeling

Return to market & warranty
Tested devices return to the professional second-life market through our distribution partners. Every unit is warranted, traceable, and shipped with its maintenance history.
- 12-month parts and labor warranty
- B2B and public-sector distribution
- Return-rate monitoring and continuous improvement
- CO₂-avoided reporting available to the original client

« Reusing buys three extra years of life on every device. »
Routing to dismantling and material recovery
Reuse is preferred as long as equipment remains technically usable. Otherwise it joins the dismantling chain: boards are extracted and classified by family, cables and metal parts are sorted and prepared for recovery.
No equipment is put back into service without secure processing of storage media beforehand.
